Dairy
The dairy project aims at establishing 100 dairy cow pilot units to demonstrate improved milk production both in quality and quantity.
EAL also partners with dairy farmers to establish dairy economic units that demonstrate increased productivity and create more value by supporting production and off-take milk. Increasing milk yield per cow from an average of 7 liters per day to at least 20 litres per day by providing quality silage and adopting best practices in animal husbandry dairy farming.
The project also ensures good quality milk by automating the milking process, implementing industry best practices in production, and providing proper storage in each unit. The units will employ efficient technology and energy-saving mechanisms in the biogas system to power the whole team.
Feeds And Fodder
EAL has established a robust production program aimed at disrupting the animal feed sector. Our feeds program has three goals; reducing the cost of feeds, increasing realizable nutrition and creating feed security.
We recognize the direct correlation between animal feeds and the productivity of animals. Hence, we are intentionally addressing animal feeds to ensure optimal utilization and conversion. To this end, we have developed Total Mixed Rations (TMRs) for the livestock in their different stages of development to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the feeds. We are working both with primary fodder producers and animal feed manufacturers to transform this sector.
